Clinical/Counselling Psychologist role in Adult ADHD with Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust in Colchester
A really exciting opportunity has arisen to support the continued development of the multidisciplinary ADHD service across NE and West Essex. This post will be aligned with the NE Essex Autism Service and in future we hope that we can look towards developing a more comprehensive neurodevelopmental service. This post offers excellent clinical leadership and service development experiences. This post and service are the beginning of a journey to explore the potential for the development of neurodevelopmental services and within this a leadership/expert role. With this in mind, further development through the appraisal process and additional leadership/neurodevelopmental training can be considered with up to £6000, calculated pro rata, being available over a period of 2-3 years. We are looking to recruit a job share for the psychology post in this MDT. This post is crucial in spanning the clinical delivery of psychological assessment and intervention for people with suspected ADHD who are not already known to secondary mental health services. The team integrates and work in partnership with local Primary Care Networks (PCNs) and NHS Talking Therapies to develop further support for individuals. There is a role for ongoing training and consultation to the PCNs, mental health and GP colleagues in secondary and primary care services as well as in the wider community. If you are innovative and passionate about improving access to and the quality of care for people with neurodevelopmental disorders this post is well suited to you. Please contact us to explore and discuss this further. About us The Trust has a well-respected clinical psychology department, with clinical psychology integrated within most specialisms and involved with the planning and strategic implementation of new and existing services. We hold the development of people within our department as crucial to delivering key targets for the service and the Trust. The Service enjoys good links with and supervises clinical psychology trainees from the University of East Anglia, University of Hertfordshire, University of Essex and University College, London training schemes. Clinical research, teaching and specialised interests are actively encouraged. As well as formal courses, members of the department have enjoyed secondments and placements at several centres of excellence. Current members of the department are clinical tutors on training courses, hold honorary lecturer and fellowship positions and have involvement as fellows at CSIP/NIMHE For further main responsibilities and duties please refer to the job description and person specification.
