If you are, a unique opportunity has arisen for a band 7 chemotherapy nurse to join our established and dynamic Chemotherapy Nursing team at our QEH site We specialise in solid Tumours and Haemato-oncological malignancies as well as clinical haematology. We are passionate about continually improving our services and you will be working collaboratively with the team on quality improvement. We are seeking a motivated and committed experienced chemotherapy trained nurse to join our team as a band 7 Unit manager in the Chemotherapy day Unit QEH. This role involves cross site working between our two chemotherapy day units at UHL and QEH The SACT/Chemotherapy Unit Manager focuses on the delivery of high quality, safe and effective care focused on improving outcomes and experiences for patients, families and carers. Nurses in this role will: Have continuous responsibility for the SACT/Chemotherapy Unit on Macmillan Brook (QEH). Be the key contact member for the multidisciplinary team Provide professional leadership and line management for ateam of nursing and support staff; Delegate work and supervise colleagues accordingly; Assess patients, plan, implement and evaluate evidence-basedcare; Provide expert clinical advice; Ensure patient pathways and cancer treatments are optimally managed; Manage budgets and resources efficiently and effectively; To support the matron for Cancer Services and Lead SACT nurse with demand and capacity planning Be responsible for the safety of the clinical environment; Champion a culture of learning and quality improvement in the clinical area. To work in collaboration with the Lead SACT Nurse/cancer matron for Cancer Services to develop protocols and pathways for the SACT/chemotherapy services in line with Quality Surveillance requirements and Department of Health policy Have clinical oversight for the AOS advise line (24hr help line) during working hours, and be responsible for escalating clinical issues or concerns to the appropriate teams.
