Consultant in Community Sexual and Reproductive health (SRH) with Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust in London
We are seeking a part-time (7 PA) Consultant to join a dynamic, enthusiastic and forward thinking team, which has undergone significant growth in the last decade. The department is currently involved in many exciting initiatives and are looking for individuals with appropriate skills to complement this team and help build the community SRH Service to be in the forefront of clinical and academic excellence. This is an excellent opportunity to join a first class team in an active and progressive central London teaching hospital environment. This is a new Consultant in Community Sexual and reproductive Health (cSRH) post created to support the expansion of long-acting reversible contraception (LARC) provision and training within the service and to champion high quality cSRH research within the service. The post holder will work collaboratively with the women's health/contraception lead and FSRH principal trainer with overseeing the expansion of LARC services in the department and with delivery and oversight of training for contraception for staff within the department and the organisation as well as with training of the cSRH specialty trainees. This is a new post for a part-time (0.7 WTE) Consultant in Community Sexual and Reproductive Health (cSRH) created to support the cSRH lead consultant with oversight of training within the department for cSRH trainees and for FSRH related training and to provide complex contraception, leadership in sexual health research, training, as well as general clinical and managerial responsibilities in the department. The post holder will contribute to clinical, teaching, audit and research support for the department and management support for the medical staff and the department in general. As an organisation, we are committed to developing our services in ways that best suit the needs of our patients. This includes asking certain groups of staff to work more flexibly so that we can offer services to patients in the evenings and at weekends. We regard this flexibility as essential if we are to continue to provide first class patient care in the future. As a result, any offer of employment to a consultant post will be subject to you agreeing to work a new more flexible pattern of working in the future if required and in accordance with the provisions of the new Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust consultant contract. A detailed indicative job plan is attached. The job plan will be negotiated between the consultant and their clinical director/lead at least annually.
