Mental Health Practitioner/Supervisor with Northamptonshire Healthcare Foundation Trust in Northampton
The Mental Health Practitioner /supervisor role in the Children's Wellbeing Pathway is to work directly with children and young people, offer parent-led support, one to one work, working with children and young people in group work using evidence based interventions and to offer workshops to parents and children and young people. The role will be required to offer weekly Low Intensity supervision for CWPs and trainee CWPs and be part of a team offering clinical skills supervision. The role will also support consultations and screening of referrals coming into the CWP pathway. The CWP pathway works closely with and benefits from the support of the senior members of the Mental Health Support Team. You will be expected to carry a caseload, to supervise junior members of the team and to offer workshops and groups. It would be preferable for the post holder needs to have completed the Low Intensity Supervisor's Course, a Postgraduate Certificate qualification and be able to demonstrate an ability to work clinically with children and young people. Must be a car user and have a car available to travel. Key Duties/Responsibilities To act at all times in accordance with the respective professional Code of Professional Conduct, Trust Policies and occupational protocols. To contribute to the development and provision of services to children and young people. The post holder will be expected to supervise and offer clinical skills sessions to junior staff and support trainees within the team. To perform all aspects of the role in accordance with Trust policies and other national bodies. To work with a defined caseload of service users as part of a multi-disciplinary team, providing assessment, care planning and care delivery for service users with mild to moderate mental health difficulties. This will include the provision of highly skilled professional care, psychological interventions, group work, clinical assessment, risk assessments / risk management, and promoting recovery and inclusion and ensuring co-production with service users, families and carers and the education staff. To provide advice to other members of staff and trainees and act as a role model and to provide consultations and signposting to those within the community. To provide leadership, management and supervision / appraisal for junior staff (and sometimes other members of a multi-disciplinary team) and lead / coordinate / supervise teams of staff in the delivery and evaluation of care.
