Nursery Nurse for Infant Feeding with Cambridge University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in Cambridge
Are you a team player, with excellent communication skill, experience in infant feeding and a passion to facilitate and develop infant feeding support within the NICU? We are seeking a Band 4 qualified in speciality Nursery Nurse to support infant feeding leads and teach parents and staff on the NICU 4 days a week. The NICU is one of the 3 tertiary centres for the Eastern Neonatal network and part of the East of England Neonatal ODN. The Unit admits babies requiring tertiary neonatal care including surgery and neurosurgery. You will receive training and development in this friendly and dynamic organisation which seeks to innovate and strives for excellence. You will also receive a full and comprehensive orientation package and professional support tailored to individual needs. The Nursery Nurse will be responsible for providing safe and effective care to neonates and their families under the supervision of a Registered Nurse / Midwife / AHP. The Nursery Nurse will work within the Neonatal Infant Feeding Team and will support all families admitted to the NICU with developing close and loving relationships, early expressing and maintaining a milk supply and supporting with families with the skills required for responsive feeding. The Nursery Nurse will offer evidence-based information and resources to support families with shared decision making around their choice of feeding. The Nursery Nurse will have a good knowledge and understanding of the Unicef BFI standards in Neonatal Care and excellent communication skills with both families and staff. The Nursery Nurse may be required to undertake further training in order to support in the education and training of staff on the NICU.
