Extra Care Housing is for adults, who have some care needs, with an assured tenancy in a self-contained flat in a purpose-built or adapted scheme. We are looking for an Care Assistant (Extra Care) to be based in one of our Extra Care Services at The Orchard on a part time basis on permanent contract. This role is for 21 hours per week (one post available) and involves a rota system which includes working every other weekend with some bank holidays for which enhancements are paid. About us At Bath & North East Somerset Council we have one overriding purpose – to improve people’s lives. This post attracts a welcome payment of 5% of the starting salary for the grade to enable individuals to join our permanent workforce. This is payable upon successful completion of your probationary period and is subject to eligibility criteria. The Orchard offers a vibrant community atmosphere which is easily accessible via public transport or car. We are looking for an Care Assistant (Extra Care) to be based in one of our Extra Care Services at The Orchard on a part time basis on permanent contract. This role is for 21 hours per week (one post available) and involves a rota system which includes working every other weekend with some bank holidays for which enhancements are paid. Assist tenants with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene and dressing Promote tenant’s independence, choice, dignity, and respect by delivering the best standards of care Adhere to and complete accurate and timely records of the care and support provided to tenants Providing support to access third party and NHS services Be a strong team player and work on own initiative when needed Promote lifestyle choice, offering individuals the opportunity and motivation to retain independence and stay in control of their lives. About You Previous experience of working in care would be an advantage, but a commitment to deliver quality care is essential and full training will be provided.
