We are looking for a motivated, professional and hard-working Band 6 Practice nurse to join our committed, welcoming team based at Medical Centre Woolwich, Green Hill, Woolwich. This forms one of three practices within the group, the other two being at Wellington Barracks and Hyde Park. There is expectation that the successful candidate will be required to work across all sites as needed. The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary primary healthcare team delivering primary healthcare nursing including elements of occupational health within the Group Practice and will be a focal point for Primary Health Care nursing issues within area of practice. The Group Practice is formed of three sites and there is an expectation the Band 6 nurse will be required to work across all sites (the other sites being at Wellington Barracks and Hyde Park). The post holder will be able to work unsupervised and provide nursing care to the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) population at risk, holding an individual case load, and through consultation identify, assess and diagnose patients with complex health needs, minor injuries, minor illnesses and specific diseases within their level of competence. About us The main duties and responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to: Providing safe, evidence-based, cost-effective and individualised patient care. Undertaking technical nursing treatments and procedures for patients complex/specialist healthcare needs (e.g. wound care, sutures removal, Electrocardiograms (ECGs), Cytology, Audiometry, Ear Care). Providing assistance to the Senior Medical Officer performing minor surgery. Having direct responsibility for patient caseload, ensuring all patients have an accurate plan of care, which reflects the assessment undertaken and incorporate the issues and recommendations made. Providing specialist advice and support to patients, their families and other healthcare professionals following assessment, diagnosis and through treatment.
