Locum Emergency Care Practitioner with The Birches Medical Centre in Ipswich, Suffolk
We are looking to recruit an experienced minor injuries qualified Practitioner, someone who is passionate about patient centred care and wanting to enhance your primary care clinical skills. Working as an Emergency Care Practitioner for The Birches Medical Centre and Martlesham Heath Surgery you will be responsible for on the day assessment for both health and clinical needs of our patients. Utilising your clinical skills and clinical judgement to fulfil consultations from start to finish, from diagnosis to treatment regimes, with the ability to refer patients if required. This role will include face to face consultations. We offer an Extended Access Clinic from The Birches Medical Centre on a Wednesday evening, this role would be inclusive of cover during 6.30pm and 8.30pm for our patients. To carry out daily consultations with patients or representative Facilitate a comprehensive patient history during the consultation; if needed physical examinations Use of your expert knowledge and clinical judgement to identify potential diagnosis Decide on and carry out treatment, referring to secondary care within local agreed pathways and protocols as appropriate To prescribe, if suitable, medication treatment regimes in accordance to local formularies and within practice prescribing protocols, with the ability to review guidelines where applicable or request additional information if not available About us The remit of our Emergency Care Practitioner will be to work with and on behalf of the Clinical Team at The Birches Medical Centre and Martlesham Heath Surgery. The focus and main responsibilities within the role is to deliver exceptional patient care, directing experience and knowledge to patients with an array of health complaints, from minor / acute problems to chronic / long-term conditions experiencing need for Clinical advice. Highlighting and implementing management and preventative interventions where applicable. You will be responsible for advancing patient care, applying clinical decision-making based on each individual and delivering collaborative working, as a unit, with all teams situated at the surgery. Full support of both practice and locally executed policies and procedures will be required while providing leadership and direction within the practice. This role is open to Emergency Care Practitioners at any stage in their career. We have had Physicians Associates and Emergency Care Practitioners who we have supported in training in various stages of their careers.
