                                                    Health Care Support Worker - Special School Nursing with Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust in Aldershot, Hampshire

                                                     An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated HCSW to join our friendly and experienced Special School Nursing (SSN) Team. We provide Specialist SN to nine SS across the Southampton, Hampshire, IOW and Portsmouth and we are looking to recruit a HCSW to work primarily in Henry Tyndale School, Farnborough. These schools provide education to children and young people who have SEN and complex health conditions. SSN team works collaboratively with children, families, school staff and the wider MDT within the education setting to ensure a supportive and caring learning environment. The nursing team are responsible for ensuring the health needs of the children are met using a family cantered approach to assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the health needs of the children within a specialist education provision. The role will include teaching and training of school staff, supervision of delegated skills including children and young people with a range of complex care, epilepsy and seizure management, enteral feeding, and tracheostomy. The candidate must have recent experience of working with children and people with learning disabilities. To assist qualified staff in the provision of nursing care (including health promotion) as detailed in individual care plans.
