Preterm Specialist Midwife with Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in London
We have an opportunity for a midwife to join our team to cover 12 months of maternity leave. The post holder is a recognised expert in both clinical midwifery and RH&CB research, with an interest in preterm birth. They will take responsibility for the planning, development and implementation of the clinical research portfolio that reflects the needs of women at high risk of or experiencing preterm birth and related clinical areas. You will provide expert support to colleagues through the research study process, from feasibility, to clinical pathways and study delivery. You will work collaboratively with the cross site research delivery teams and the wider multidisciplinary team and act as an expert resource on both preterm birth and research for clinical colleagues, women and their families. The post holder will have joint responsibility for both supporting the aims of the Trust Research Strategy in the area of Reproductive Health and Childbirth (RH&CB) Research as well as supporting the implementation of the Saving Babies Lives (SBL) Care Bundle (version 2) in the prediction, prevention of and preparation for preterm birth. The two main focuses of the role will be to (i) expand research activity in women's health by supporting and developing the RH&CB research delivery team and (ii) implementing SBL Care Bundle No. 5 within maternity services About us See detailed job description attached to this vacancy. To facilitate efficient, safe and woman focused research including screening procedures, biological sample collection, and all clinical observations required to ensure and maintain patient safety before, during and after the research visit. To take responsibility for ensuring patient facing equipment is maintained in line with Trust policy. To ensure all staff (registered and unregistered) practice safely according to Trust policy, including the facilitation and recording of all mandatory and specific study related training, and provide excellent clinical care to women who have experienced, or are threatened to have, a preterm birth .
