About us Acorns Childrens Hospice Trust are looking for a Matron for our Birmingham Hospice to provide expert leadership, operational management and strategic direction to the hospice care team. Reporting to the Director of Care, you'll be accountable for the delivery of high-quality care that leads to the best outcomes for children and young people. About the Role Established in 1988, Acorns Childrens Hospice Trust is a registered charity, based in Birmingham. We offer our childrens hospice service across the West Midlands and Gloucestershire. Acorns owns and operates three state-of the-art childrens hospices, in Birmingham, Walsall and Worcester As Matron, you will: provide professional and clinical leadership to the hospice team be responsible for the operational, professional and resource management of the hospice be an integral part of service transformation, which puts the child and young person at the centre of everything we do foster a multi-disciplinary, patient-centred approach to care delivery, taking into account culture and language differences work closely with the Lead Practice Educator to identify skills and knowledge gaps in the workforce ensure safe medicines management as Registered Manager, be responsible for the day-to-day management of the hospice About You Registered Nurse, AHP or paramedic Recognised management or leadership qualification or equivalent experience Non-medical prescriber (or willing to undertake) Experience of managing a clinical team Experience of supporting families who have experienced loss or bereavement What We Offer £53,000 to £58,000 per annum 37.5 hours per week Employee discounts from leading retailers Employee gym discount scheme Bike-to-Work scheme Generous contribution to group personal pension plan or continuation of current NHS pension scheme NHS pension scheme life assurance or Acorns group life assurance scheme Interviews are scheduled to be held: First stage interviews - 18 November Second stage interviews - 25 November You need to be eligible to work in the UK to be considered for this role.
