Rectory Meadow Surgery are looking for an experienced Practice Nurse, ideally with a good working knowledge of managing Asthma, COPD, Diabetes, however training would be provided for the right person. Pay will be aligned to Agenda For Change and based on skills and experience. We are a very supportive team here at Rectory Meadow Surgery and we looking to find the right person to join our family. The post holder is responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe and effective nursing care to the whole practice population, working closely with their Nursing team and GP colleagues to deliver a high level of patient care. As an autonomous practitioner, the nurse is responsible for the care delivered, demonstrating critical thinking and skills in clinical decision-making. We work collaboratively with the whole Practice Team to meet the needs of the patients. About us The duties will include all tasks normally undertaken by an experienced RGN and in addition any roles agreed between the nurse and the doctors that will utilise existing training especially in chronic disease management. Core Job responsibilities: Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by the GPs Cervical Cytology Wound care/ulcer care/Doppler Removal of Sutures Urinalysis Travel Clinic ECGs Asthma/Peak Flow Readings/Spirometry Venepuncture BP monitoring Ear syringing Contraception Pill checks Routine immunizations/Childhood immunisations Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician Assisting GPs with minor surgery and coil fittings Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs Carrying out NHS Health checks Administering injections eg depo neuroleptics, Decapeptyl, B12 Following agreed clinical protocols with referral to GPs as appropriate
