An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Radiology department for permanent CT Imaging Assistant role. You would work as a member of the Radiology team providing a high standard of care to patients and their carers by: providing clinical support to assist in the smooth and efficient running of the Radiology Department. The aim of this role is to work under the direction of the CT Manager, liaising with Radiologists, Radiographers and other Assistants to ensure patient needs and welfare are attended to. Act as the patient's advocate ensuring that their best interests are met and they feel cared for at all times. Ensure that patients are helped to retain dignity and individuality, and act as chaperone when requested.To assist with patient handling and transfer. To transfer patients between ED, ward and Radiology as required and to assist in the room with patient transfer. Make any necessary arrangements for patient transportation using the Radiology IT systems where appropriate.Maintain cleanliness of the area of work. Ensure that the imaging room is ready to receive each new patient by replenishing used stock, changing linen and preparing equipment needed to ensure delays are minimised. Assist with stock control within the Imaging areas. To understand and adhere to the local rules of the imaging area at all times. Comply with all Trust Policies with particular regard to the Policies and Procedures carried out in the event of maintaining staff and patient safety. Be prepared to attend and undertake any necessary training, being aware of the need to develop and to strive to increase personal knowledge.
