Clinical/Counselling Psychologist 0.7 WTE. The successful candidate will have existing or recent extensive experience of working in Palliative, Cancer & Bereavement- either in a training or qualified post. Would you like to join our Clinical Health Psychology service in Dudley Palliative, Cancer & Bereavement Services to help facilitate coping and adjustment to the impact of Physical Health problems and improve the mental health and wellbeing of people within our service? An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to work in Palliative, Cancer & Bereavement Services. The post-holder will have an essential part to play in ensuring that psychological perspectives are taken into account across the service. You will provide specialised clinical input to individuals referred, and work closely with the multi-disciplinary teams working with this patient group. The Clinical Health Psychology Service is a team of psychologists, therapists and counsellors who aim to assist people in adapting to and developing creative solutions for physical health problems. The BCHFT Clinical Health Psychology Service currently operates across 3 geographical patches (Dudley, Wolverhampton and Sandwell and West Birmingham) with a number of contracts in each area, this post will be based at Cross Street Health Centre in Dudley . Provides highly specialist psychological assessment of clients with highly complex and contentious conditions based on the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of data from a variety of sources, which may include neuropsychological testing. Responsible for recognising the potential for or signs of client harm, abuse or neglect, including poor clinical practice, reporting all such concerns and taking all reasonable steps to protect the client. Responsible for identifying and reporting concerns regarding the safeguarding of children who may be at risk. Undertakes risk assessment and risk management for individual clients and provides highly specialist advice to other professionals on psychological aspects of risk assessment and risk management and the high physical risks inherent in the client group. Formulates plans for highly specialist psychological therapy and/or management of clients' mental health conditions based upon an appropriate conceptual framework and evidence-based practice. Negotiates the implementation of such plans with clients and/or their carers. Implements a range of highly specialist psychological therapies for individual clients, carers, families and groups, adjusting and refining psychological formulations as required.
