Job Purpose To be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality clinical services within the context of a clinical governance framework To establish good relationships with and work as part of the multi-disciplinary team, taking responsibility for the care of patients with Sexual Health and contraception needs, including assessment, investigation, diagnosis and treatment for the individual patient group. To ensure that all activities in the area are carried out within CLCH Directorate policy/National guidelines. To act as a professional role model, leading and developing clinical practice and to support and deputise for the Team Lead. To supervise, teach & assess registered and unregistered staff including HCA's. The post holder will be responsible for: Clinical practice Management responsibilities Education Professional responsibilities Hold DFSRH or willing to train towards Competent in fitting and removing SDI's or willing to train towards To be competent in pre and post HIV discussion. Recognising signs and symptoms of STI's To manage a range of symptomatic and asymptomatic female and male cases including discharge, genital ulceration and genital warts. Asymptomatic and symptomatic screening of male and female patients. All current forms of HPV treatment Microscopy and making provisional STI diagnoses. Venepuncture Point of care testing for blood borne viruses Treating named infections and administering contraception using Patient Group Directions (PGD's) or working towards completing Non-Medical Prescribing About us Please see attached Job Description for a comprehensive list of role specific duties and responsibilities Both verbal and written communication skills, and experience of team working will be essential to the role. Strong interpersonal skills will also be essential. You must be an NMC registered, UK based nurse to apply for this role, as it is 'zero-hours' it does not attract visa sponsorship.
