Weekday/Weekend Phlebotomist - Huntingdon with North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust in Huntingdon
We are excited to announce a vacancy for a dedicated and experienced Phlebotomist to join our busy but friendly team. Our phlebotomy team plays a crucial role by providing essential services to both outpatients and in-patient wards. The post is based at Hinchingbrooke Hospital but you may occasionally be required to work at other Trust sites in Peterborough or Stamford. It would be desirable for you to have some Phlebotomy experienceand be prepared to work at different sites within the trust as required. Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate approach to patient care are essential attributes for this role. If you are passionate about patient care and have the necessary phlebotomy experience, we would love to hear from you! As a Phlebotomist, you will have the important responsibility of interacting with patients, explaining procedures, and providing reassurance when needed. Your primary duty will be to collect blood samples via venepuncture, ensuring that each patient is accurately identified and that samples are correctly labelled. Timely delivery of these samples to the laboratory is essential, and you will be expected to meet strict deadlines to ensure efficient processing. In addition to the technical aspects of the role, you will also be involved in collating information regarding patient statistics, conducting audits, and participating in patient surveys. This data collection is vital for maintaining high standards of care and continuous improvement in our services.
