Clinical Nurse Specialist HIV with Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in Cottingham, Hull
Due to an expansion of the service, an exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 Band 6 full time HIV Specialist Nurses to join our established HIV nursing team within the infectious Diseases Unit at Castle Hill Hospital. We seek an enthusiastic, motivated, adaptable individual. Working closely alongside the multidisciplinary team (MDT) consisting Specialist Nurses, Medical Staff, Pharmacists caring for people living with HIV. As part of the HIV Network you will use your specialist knowledge to provide support and guidance to care for patients living with HIV. Working flexibly you will ensure to provide a patient-focused service at all times. You will be expected to work across multiple settings including outpatients, inpatient wards, community, outreach clinics, home visits. We are seeking someone passionate about making a difference to people living with HIV. You will need to possess clinical assessment skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will often be the first point of contact for patients and other medical teams and play a key role as a member of the MDT. You will undertake a range of duties to ensure the effective delivery of care. With support from the HIV MDT, they will provide specialist advice, education and ongoing support to all patients, relatives and carers. You will be based within a team but must also be able to work independently and autonomously. Experience caring for patients is desirable but not essential. As the nurse specialist within the defined sphere of practice the post holder is responsible with support and guidance for providing specialist knowledge and care to patients living within the wider region with HIV. They will often act as the first point of contact for patients and other medical teams and will play a key role in co-ordinating members of the multi-disciplinary team. They will undertake a range of duties including independent review of patients as required to ensure the effective delivery of care. With support from the HIV consultants they will provide specialist advice, education and ongoing support to all patients in the region living with HIV.
