We are able to offer part time, full time , annualised, weekend only and flexible working roles in a variety of District Nursing teams and locations across Oxfordshire. As a Community Nurse, you would be supported to develop into an autonomous practitioner; nursing patients with multiple complex health care needs in their own home. District nursing is a highly specialised area of practice recognised by the Queens Nurses Institute and NMC as a specialist role. As a Community Staff Nurse, you will work within a neighbourhood team of District Nurse Team Leaders, Community Staff Nurses, Therapists, Assistant Practitioner's, Health Care Assistant's and phlebotomists to meet the needs of the complex patient in the community and avoid admissions to the acute sector as far as practicable. This includes Intravenous medication administration, end of life care, managing the deteriorating patient, complex and simple wound care including VAC therapy and compression therapy, venepuncture, utilising advanced physical assessment skills and many more clinical nursing skills. We nurse people with a variety of conditions in a holistic manner both in their own home and in clinic setting and work in close partnership with other primary health care professionals such as GP's, Community Matrons, Community Therapies and other Tier 2 specialised services such as Tissue Viability, Diabetes and Heart Failure. About us What will we give you? Once you have started with Oxford Health you will be on the road to develop and hone your clinical skills. We offer each person a bespoke induction in your team with a period of being supernumerary , which is usually up to 4 weeks. We will ensure you can attend the District Nursing Induction programme, this is tailored to district nursing staff, encompassing as facets of Oxford Health and the lived experience of what you will do, giving you an insight into the organisation. The preceptorship programme is another opportunity for you and you will be able to undertake a service development project.
