This position requires a strong general internal medicine knowledge and the role will provide the opportunity to spend one day a week on the general internal medicine rota in A&E, the clinical assessment unit or the short stay unit.       Provide direct clinical care and share in the department's workload. Including taking the lead on Stroke Calls.   Assist in patient assessments, ward rounds, multi-disciplinary meetings, and radiology meetings.   Support consultants in reviewing admissions and developing triage strategies. Including the use of thrombolysis and CT Perfusion assessment pathways.   Participate in clinical audits, governance activities, and quality improvement initiatives.   Engage in professional development, research, and continuing medical education. Active engagement in clinical leadership, improving patient experience, and delivering high-quality care alongside medical, nursing, and management teams is expected.   Additionally, the role involves contributing to the education and professional development of the department's staff, including supervision of junior medical staff and involvement in recruitment, appraisal, and mentoring activities. Teaching certification verification is required for training responsibilities.
