We are excited to recruit to a Consultant Clinical Psychologist post to lead the provision of psychological input across two Children and Young People's Mental Health (CYPMH) Services in The Bay (covering our teams in Lancaster and Morecambe, and Kendal and Barrow-in-Furness). Successful candidates will be expected to set direction, provide clinical leadership and supervision for the psychologists and psychological therapists in the teams (including professional governance of non-core professionals trained in a psychological therapy who use this as part of their role), and provide specialist psychological expertise into the wider multi-disciplinary CYPMH service. The post holder will have a track record of leadership skills, expertise in at least one model of intervention, and have specific interest in at least one of the following domains: neuro-diversity or emerging personality problems/developmental trauma. The post-holder will be expected to contribute to the research and clinical approaches to one of these domains across the Trust, sharing expertise with practitioners from other localities. This opportunity comes at an exciting time for the care group where we are in a process of redesign and transformation, hence candidates should also be able to demonstrate experience in service development. To be responsible for leading the provision for high-quality specialist psychological interventions within a comprehensive MDT to children and young people, their families and carers, working within the policies, procedures and protocols applicable to the service. To work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice and consultation within your designated area of responsibility. To ensure that systems are in place and working effectively for the clinical and professional supervision and support of all other psychologists and psychological therapists within the service/sector for which the post holder has designated professional responsibility. To ensure that clear systems for effective recruitment, professional appraisal, and the identification of CPD needs across the designated area of responsibility are in place. To utilise research skills, audit, policy and service development and research and co-ordinate such activities by psychological practitioners within the designated area of responsibility.
