Exciting opportunities are available to join the endoscopy team at Torbay Hospital. The successful applicant will be based in the endoscopy unit, but with the opportunity to work in different areas of the service, gaining experience and knowledge within the inpatient and out patient environments caring for patients with gastrointestinal disease.
The endoscopy unit at Torbay Hospital has been recognised nationally for its high standards of care, recognised as an exemplar site for Endoscopy care, training and Bowel cancer screening.
You will need a mix of skills including the ability to develop effective working relationships and effective time management.

Communicate verbally with all personnel, departments and agencies relevant to patient care.
Maintain nursing documentation consistently and clearly to support the provision of care.
To monitor and take responsibility for the ordering of accessories and equipment to maintain stock levels as agreed by the manager.
Accept responsibility and participate in personal and professional development.
To develop and maintain positive communication with all members of the team to ensure confidentiality is maintained in accordance with Trust policy.
Follow agreed Unit/Trust policy in relation to personal and patient safety.
Assist in maintaining the department so that the clinical area remains a safe environment for patients, visitors and colleagues.
Report to the registered nurse observations and documentation relating to patient care.
Provide the first assistant role to the endoscopies during a range of procedures and the second assistant role during ERCP and more complex procedures.
Provide patient care to patients undergoing diagnostic procedures as part of the multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
