- Develop cardiac skills and competencies, taking charge of the unit and actively participate in and contributing to the management of the ward or department on a regular basis.
- Supervising and mentoring students and junior staff.
Main duties of the jobYou will be working in rotation between day case unit James Hope Ward and elective overnight Charles Pumphrey Unit that run five (5) days cardiology procedure service.
James Hope Ward has 3 bays of 3 trolleys that operates from 07:30 to 19:30 Monday to Friday.
Charles Pumphrey Unit consists of 7 beds for overnight stay elective patients and is open from Monday 7:30 to Saturday 15:00.
Both are challenging and fast paced unit working to meet the increasing demands on St. Georges Cardiology service as a regional tertiary center delivering high quality care.
About usYou will be part of a multi-disciplinary team on this Nurse Led Unit working closely with Catheter Labs and Nurse Practitioners.
Their main site, St George's Hospital in Tooting - one of the country's principal teaching hospitals - is shared with St George's, University of London, which trains medical students and carries out advanced medical research.

Other services treat patients from all over the country, such as family HIV care and bone marrow transplantation for non-cancer diseases. The trust also provides a nationwide state-of-the-art endoscopy training centre.
