Must be proficient in undertaking clinical assessment of eligible babies and administration of the intradermal administration of the BCG vaccination

Advise parents and carers on the BCG vaccine, including after care of the site.

Contribute to the identification and
protection of children
at risk of abuse and act in accordance with the local Safeguarding Childrens Board guidelines.

Maintain
statutory & mandatory training
records (BLS, Anaphylaxis and Immunisation).

Provide
support, mentorship, guidance and supervision
to junior staff members


Promote and facilitate collaborative working
effectively with parents, carers and families of eligible children and with the all stakeholders to provide a coordinated service for the community.

Maintain legible, contemporaneous records,
safeguarding confidentiality

Comply with that all relevant
regulations
and organisational and national guidance and policy documents relating to quality of immunisation services.


Clinical governance
activities in accordance with VUK policies and procedures for best practice.

Provide advice and support (including signposting where appropriate) on other missed or due childhood vaccinations for any eligible baby who attends the clinic.

Escalate
issue
,
risks / clinical incidents
to management which arise i.e. contract compliance, service delivery and client safety.

The postholder will undertake BCG vaccinations in community clinic settings. These clinics take place across North Central London.

We require trained BCG Nurses to deliver the intradermal BCG vaccination to eligible babies across every borough of North Central London. This includes:

Camden

Haringey

Islington

Barnet

Enfield

These vaccinations are delivered in community clinic settings that take place between 0900 - 1500

You can work in one or more boroughs.
