The post holder is identified as a Highly Specialised Respiratory Physiologist who is a clinical expert in Respiratory Physiology within the Lung Function Team and is responsible for contributing to effective leadership and development of Respiratory services within the UHB in particular the prehab2rehab Cardiopulmonary Exercise Test service. The post holder will be expected to participate in the provision of expert Respiratory Physiology care and are accountable for contributing to the planning, formulating and actioning of service delivery and development.
The post holder will work as a skilled Lead Clinical Specialist working autonomously to support other colleagues to co-ordinate the clinical areas and to provide highly specialised knowledge ensuring the maintenance of clinical excellence within the service.
- Leading CPET at both UHL and UHW sites
- Leading Complex sleep apnoea clinics
- Undertakes line management duties for members of the team to include, CPD, development reviews, annual leave and sickness management.
- Manages rotas for clinics
- Provides clinical support such as contraindications, identifying urgency of testing requests, triaging tests and answering any clinical queries
- Creating protocols, SOPs and managing efficiency of service pathways in particular around community spirometry
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
