The department of Cardiology at St. George's is seeking to appoint a Junior Clinical Fellow (ST1-2) for 12 months to work as part of a busy unit.
- Caring for inpatients and outpatients
- Attendance in Cardiology
- Junior Doctor Rotation
- The post holder will, along with consultant and registrar colleagues, contribute to the provision of Cardiology services to St George's University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, including diagnosis and treatment of patients of the Trust in such hospitals, clinics or other premises as is required.

There will be the opportunity to observe diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac catheterisation, the insertion of temporary and permanent pacemakers and implantable defibrillators, the insertion of intra-aortic balloon pumps, transthoracic and transoesophageal echocardiography. There may be the opportunity for further training in echocardiography and cardiac nuclear medicine for interested applicants. Continued cardiological education is maintained by weekly echocardiography meetings, weekly audit and mortality/morbidity meetings, and weekly angiographic meetings. In addition there is a regular registrar based clinical teaching session. Participation in clinical audit is essential and there will be the opportunity to perform an audit project.
