About the Role:

Happy Nest Nanny & Maternity Agency is seeking a kind, compassionate, and experienced part-time nanny for a warm and welcoming family in Central York, North Yorkshire. The family has two energetic boys, aged 9 and 6, and is looking for a nanny to provide after-school care and create a nurturing environment.

The role involves school pick-up at 3 pm, engaging the children in fun and educational activities, helping with homework and reading, and preparing healthy meals from scratch. The boys are musically inclined, so a nanny with a love for music who can encourage their interests would be a great fit!

On Fridays, you will be required to drive the boys to the family's second home in the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds, 45 minutes east of York, where you will also work during school holidays. The property features a swimming pool, so you should be a confident swimmer who enjoys spending time in the water with the children.

The family is looking for a long-term partnership with someone who can adapt to their needs and provide stability and consistency for the boys. There is also an opportunity for travel with the family, depending on the candidate's flexibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • School pick-up and safe transportation of children
  • Providing after-school care and supervision
  • Assisting with homework and reading
  • Engaging the boys in creative, educational, and musical activities
  • Preparing nutritious meals from scratch
  • Supervising and participating in swimming and other physical activities
  • Driving to the familys second home in the Yorkshire Wolds every Friday and working from there during school holidays
  • Planning and executing fun and enriching days out during school holidays
  • Ensuring a safe and supportive environment for the children

Requirements:

  • Full Enhanced DBS certificate
  • Paediatric First Aid certification

  • Confident swimmer
  • Own car and valid drivers licence

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Mileage reimbursement for travel when working
  • Opportunity to work in a beautiful countryside setting and city centre location
  • Flexible working hours during school holidays if required
  • Potential to travel with the family
