We're looking for an organised and personable individual to join our team as a Medical Assistant, where you will play a key role in the success of the Care assessments team at Xyla. In this role you will be responsible for gathering and collating evidence for the retrospective reviews of previously unassessed periods of care, taking appeal minutes and writing clear reports that demonstrate need. Whilst completing Leder reviews you will use your clinical knowledge and judgement to identify evidence of good practice and the key areas of learning needs.

Every day you will...


  • Meet with patients/representatives in sensitive situations and provide appropriate responses in a variety of complex scenarios
  • Analyse and interpret large volumes of information enabling robust decisions to be made for NHS Continuing Healthcare, working to timescales within National NHS guidance and agreed KPI’s
  • Identify evidence demonstrating current needs and identify gaps in evidence collected, using clinical knowledge and judgement to identify evidence of good practice and key areas of learning needs
  • Liaise with our Clinical teams, ICB’s, adult social care, care providers, patients, family members, solicitors as and when required
  • Participate in 1-1 and clinical supervision and facilitating meetings with patients/representatives explaining assessment processes and discussing complex health and care needs

To thrive in this role you must...


  • Have a background in healthcare or social care
  • Have good knowledge of continuing healthcare, NHS framework, DoLS and the Mental Capacity Act
  • Have the ability to organise and prioritise workload effectively
  • Be detail orientated with administration experience
