We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Community Staff Nurse to join the District Nursing team in the Helensburgh and Lomond area. This is a fixed term contract for one year, to cover maternity leave. This post is 21 hrs per week and includes weekend working and cover for late shifts until 10pm. The post-holder will be based in Helensburgh/Lochside area.
Working with District Nurses and other professionals you will deliver planned programmes of care to individuals, families, carers and communities in the area. You will contribute to the delivery of health care in the community and assist in driving the re-ablement agenda, working directly with the multi-disciplinary team to prevent hospital admission and facilitate discharge.
It is essential that you are a First Level Registered Nurse with current NMC registration and experience and skills relevant to community nursing. Previous community nursing experience would be desirable.
You will have good communication skills with the ability to work on your own initiative as well as being part of a team. Evidence of continuous Professional Development and a car driver/owner with a full driving licence.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
