Job Purpose:
To develop and provide statutory and operational reports as well as wider information and analytical services to clinical services and to senior management
To manage and coach a team of analysts, prioritising workloads autonomously and responsible for meeting reporting deadlines
Key role in developing current and future reporting capabilities including:
o Ensuring business intelligence partner is meeting development deadlines
o Managing development of new data warehouse
o Maximising efficiency and opportunities available through new analytical and reporting tools
To help develop a culture that improves quality in respect of data that is captured by community services
To implement and maintain reporting systems to provide assurance to business units and directorates, committees and the Board.
To make presentations to various staff groups on information management subjects as required.
Post holder will also support and assist in creating and implementing parts of the organisations Digital and Data strategies and delivery of business tools and projects such as capacity planning and local tariffs.
Key result areas/Lead Responsibilities:
Day to day management of a team of analysts within the department
Co-ordinating and prioritising the work of the business intelligence team to ensure it meets a range of demanding deadlines for routine and ad hoc reports and data submissions.
Ensure the processes in the business intelligence team are streamlined, efficient, produce quality information and that the team delivers high quality business support to its customers.
Develop and implement effective models of interrogating and presenting monthly and quarterly performance data across multiple services, highlighting areas for change or investigation.
Help develop a culture of data quality and data driven decision making.
Advise and support service leads to help improve the accuracy and consistency of their activity recording and minimise data and information gaps.
Ensure appropriate action or escalation when there are persistent quality problems.
Build and maintain good working relationships with internal service leads and commissioning bodies.
Communicate effectively with a range of people with a range of IT knowledge and skill (both verbally and written in the provision of guidance documentation).
Supplier/stakeholder management including providers of business intelligence and data warehousing services.
Keep up-to-date with relevant legislation, policies and procedures, reporting technologies and communicate to relevant parties.
Provide advice on data reporting for tenders, mobilisation of new services and data for service redesign.
Support and assist in yearly contract refresh of activity and capacity planning data.
Lead actions and responses to queries arising from monthly Technical meetings including negotiating on contracted activity targets.
Creating and implementing parts of the organisations Digital and Data strategies and delivery of business tools and projects such as capacity planning and local tariffs.
To provide specialist advice in areas including but not limited to:
o Information interpretation
o Data analysis
o Information reporting
Deputise at meetings, when required, for Associate Director of Business Intelligence
