Are you a professional Pharmacy Technician looking for a new challenge? Would you like to build and develop your knowledge within the medicines supply chain homecare team . We are looking for a pharmacy technician to deliver patient-centred care in an expanding and developing service.
As a key member of the team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our homecare team deliveringa first class service for patients across NHS Tayside. Medicines homecare services have emerged as a key supply route over recent years, releasing capacity from the hospital setting.
The successful candidate should be keen to develop their knowledge and skills within a supportive environment. You must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and have an accredited checking technician qualification (ACT). All accredited final accuracy checking qualifications will be considered.
Pharmacy Technicians who do not meet the Senior Pharmacy Technician Person Specification criteria are encouraged to apply for the role and will be supported to undertake required education and supervised practice to develop their competence and confidence to fulfil the duties of a Senior Pharmacy Technician. You will retain your current salary until you achieve the qualification(s) and competencies required for the Senior Pharmacy Technician role. Once successfully demonstrating these, you will move to the post of Senior Pharmacy Technician which affords a Band 5 salary.

Hours of work are 37 hours over a 7 day working week, consideration will be given to applicants looking to work part time/job share.
NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
