This exciting and funded opportunity is offered by Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust (SCFT) and will enable suitably qualified nurses to undertake either a MSc in Primary and Community Care (Community Children's Nursing) Specialist Practice Award.


You could be based in any of our four CCN locality teams, which includes: Brighton & Hove, Chichester, Crawley or Lancing. Further details can be discussed at interview.


Main duties of the job

The service provides children's community nursing for children and young people with long term conditions, complex needs, and palliative care, including end of life care. The children can present with acute illness in addition to requiring skilled nursing intervention to manage highly complex health and developmental needs throughout childhood and at transition to adult services. The CYPCNS works closely with social care, education and third sector organisations.

Starting in September 2024 you will commence a fixed term contract with SCFT and undertake a one year full-time at the University of Surrey. All educational components of the programme are based at the University of Surrey (Guildford), with your clinical placement based within one of the CCN teams within Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust. You will be supported by an experienced CCN Practice Assessor throughout your course.

Successful completion of the course will lead to a NMC Specialist Practice Award, independent nurse prescriber qualification (V300) and a MSc in Primary and Community Care (Community Childrens Nursing)
