If so, you are invited to apply for an exciting opportunity of becoming a Trainee Healthcare Science Practitioner specialising in Respiratory & Sleep. Over the initial three years you will be fully supported and developed within our friendly and inclusive Respiratory & Sleep Physiological Science Team to become a Healthcare Science Practitioner.
As part of this busy and dynamic team you will become able to work effectively and efficiently both alone and as part of team, you must have the ability to organize and prioritise your own workload and work flexibly in line with changes in clinical demands across all our hospital sites, King's Mill, Newark and Mansfield Community.
The role will include training to perform and report a range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in Respiratory and Sleep Physiology. The successful applicant must have excellent communication skills combined with a pleasant outgoing manner; be interested in and have knowledge of Respiratory Physiology in addition to strong computer skills.
Main duties of the jobBetween September 2024 and July 2027 the successful candidate will undertake a Level 6 degree Apprentice Healthcare Science Practitioner (Respiratory) course at Sheffield Hallam University (SHU), specialising in Respiratory; alongside in house clinical training across the Sherwood Forest Hospitals sites.
Attendance at SHU is required typically in week blocks, four one week blocks in year one, three one week blocks in year two and four shorter blocks in year three. The Trust will pay the university fees associated with the degree course as well as travelling expenses and hotel accommodation.
