We have a great opportunity to join our Trauma & Orthopaedic Therapy Team working on the acute wards at York Hospital. Our main caseload consists of trauma patients however you will also have the opportunity to work with elective orthopaedic patients. We have a Band 3 Generic Therapy Assistant, 37.5 hours per week role available. The team works Monday to Sunday between 8.00am - 4.30pm (working hours and rota pattern to be agreed on appointment).

The team is made up of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Support workers. You will have access to a support network including specialist Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists, a Management Team and Professional Leadership Team.

The role involves working with patients on the orthopaedic wards. You will be required to assist our Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists with physical rehabilitation, general patient care and facilitate the smooth running of the department.
We are looking for someone who is keen to learn, enthusiastic and committed to delivering quality care on the wards. Ideally you will have previous experience as a Therapy or Healthcare Assistant, however we welcome applications from a variety of backgrounds.
You will be responsible for ensuring IT based administrative tasks are completed on a daily basis and manage the provision of therapeutic equipment as required.
You will need to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills and a caring approach in your everyday work. You will be supported in ongoing development and training. The role will involve at times taking responsibility for your own caseload and working alone.
