Band Consultant: £99,532 to £131,964 a year per annum  PERMANENT 
NHS ON-CALL WEEKEND
The role of Consultant in Acute Medicine at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King’s Lynn NHSFT involves delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of the Acute Medicine service. The consultant will oversee the Acute Medicine department's nursing and medical staff, supervise junior clinicians, and lead patient care in areas such as the Acute Medical Unit (AMU), Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC), and Terrington Short Stay (TSS). Responsibilities include rapid assessment and management of acute medical emergencies, conducting post-take ward rounds, and collaborating with various medical departments to enhance emergency services and avoid unnecessary admissions.

Additionally, the consultant is expected to engage in educational activities, leading the training and supervision of junior staff and medical students, while participating in clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives. Leadership in service development, adherence to clinical protocols, and commitment to continuing professional development are essential components of the role. The consultant will also participate in the weekend on-call rota and contribute to performance reviews and professional growth of staff members within the department.
