The post-holder will deputise for the department manager as required within the department and across the Trust.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 nurse to work within our busy head and neck, maxillofacial and ENT out patients clinic. We provide a comprehensive day case service and procedures that covers all our 3 specialties including complex dressings. This is an ideal position for an enthusiastic and dynamic nurse to develop their leadership skills and expand their skills and experience. The successful candidate/s will be a positive Role Model who will support the development and education of staff, participates in supervision, mentorship and appraisal as required. A skilled practitioner and clinical leader providing support to the management team, participating in service/policy development. Responsible for clinical assessment of a group of patients to ensure treatments and procedures are carried out safely and in a timely manner.
Management of a team consisting of a variety of nursing groups and MDT teams.
Demonstrate highly technical and/or practical skills for our day case patients to ensure optimum patient management including complex patient monitoring; equipment management and frequent administration of invasive tests/procedures.
Candidates must have at least two years’ experience as a staff nurse with knowledge of plastic surgery, head and neck, ENT and Maxfax services.
A skilled practitioner, providing leadership and management support, developing, improving, and evaluating best practice within the department.

Provide expert daily leadership and support to all levels of staff in both clinic areas.
Manage and co-ordinate staffing day to day and in advance, to ensure effective use of resources across both departments.
This includes responsibility for the off duty and work list taking into account bank nursing requirements.
To participate and ensure that all staff in the area undergo an annual appraisal using the personal development review documentation (PDR).
To support staff with CPD activities and to promote teaching and training regularly in house and outside the trust trust to meet skills requirement for both clinical areas.
Maxfax, ENT and head and neck experience will be desirable.
