We have an exciting opportunity to join our Pharmacy Dispensary Team at Royal Lancaster Infirmary as a Senior Assistant Technical Officer (SATO)

The Pharmacy Department at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary is looking for an enthusiastic, well-motivated individual to join the team.

Working within the Pharmacy main dispensary and on the wards, the post will involve ordering and dispensing medications for in-patients and those being discharged from hospital. You must be able to work as a team member and on an individual basis.

Working Pattern will be Monday to Friday 9:00 to 17:30, with weekend and Bank Holiday work as part of a rotation.


Training Role considered

'Training role and completion of NVQ2 Pharmacy Services will be considered for applicants without the essential qualification.' 'Training role is paid at 75% of a Band 3 (uplifted to minimum living wage), then moving to a Band 3 upon completion of NVQ2 Pharmacy Services.

This is a varied role giving you the opportunity to work within our busy dispensary team ensuring timely turnaround of medications for inpatients and discharges.

You would also have the opportunity to join our ward based teams, working at ward level to ensure our inpatients have the medication they need throughout their stay.

You must be able to work as a team member and on an individual basis.

Previous Pharmacy experience and an NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy services, or other recognised dispensing qualification is essential, together with competent IT skills and good basic education including English and Maths to GCSE level. (Progression role considered)

Full training will be given to the successful applicants.
