Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is part of the NHS Wales family.
Ward 5 is a 22 bedded stroke ward which is recruiting a motivated and enthusiastic Ward Manager to lead and manage their team. The ward provides care to patients in the acute and rehab phase of their stroke, providing advice and support to patients, families and health care professionals using evidence based practice.
The successful candidate should display effective leadership and management skills in order to deliver high quality patient focussed care and ensure effective collaborative multidisciplinary working. The post holder should have excellent communication skills, use their initiative, demonstrate flexibility, provide clinical expertise to the team and share a passion for the speciality.
The post holder will carry twenty-four hour continuing responsibility for the management of their respective ward. They will be highly experienced in general medical nursing and possess specialist knowledge and expertise in the area of rehabilitation.
The post holder will be responsible for delivering a quality nursing service to all patients in their care, ensuring that all resources are used to optimum effect.
They will be responsible for the devising and implementation of policies and procedures for their ward, which will ensure the highest standards of patient care within existing/current resources and which will ensure the highest standards and mission of the UHB.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the safety and welfare of staff through the observance and implementation of Health and Safety Policies and also assist them in identifying and achieving training and developmental needs through the implementation of UHB policies and procedures
Have a continuing responsibility of the management and the delivery of a 24 bedded mixed general medical ward with a respiratory speciality ensuring effective and efficient use of resources.
