To develop professional, therapeutic relationships with clients and families/carers.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Support Worker to work within the Mersey Care Eating Disorder Service.
The role will involve delivering a wide range of low-level interventions to clients; these may include assisted eating, meal planning, wellbeing calls, and supporting clients in the community. Client presentations include Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, and people with an Atypical Eating Disorder presentation. The service also offers group support for those supporting someone with an eating disorder. Within the role, you will receive regular supervision. The post holder will be working across the Eating Disorder and FREED (early intervention) pathway.
You will be joining an established team of clinical psychologists, psychological therapists, dieticians, specialist nurse, and peer support worker. The operational hours are Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm and we are based within William House, Rathbone Hospital, Liverpool, L13 4AW.
To carry out low level interventions with clients including assisted eating, meal planning, co-facilitating workshops, wellbeing calls, and providing psychoeducation, under the supervision of a qualified practitioner.
To support clients out in the local community e.g., eating related tasks, accessing social, recreational, and/or occupational activities.
To develop professional, therapeutic relationships with clients and families/carers. To maintain appropriate professional boundaries with clients at all times.
