The post holder will deputize for the Senior Sister in her absence and should be able to demonstrate good organizational skills and monitor standards within the nursing team.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated experienced Band 6 Dermatology Nurse to join the Dermatology Team at The Royal London Hospital.

Applicants should have experience of working within the field of Dermatology and be knowledgeable and skilled in Dermatology Nursing. The post holder will be actively involved in the day to day running of the dermatology nursing services and have the opportunity to develop their own dermatology nursing skills and participate in running nurse led services.

The department offers a wide range of nurse led services including Phototherapy, Botox, PDT, Patch Testing, Dressing clinic and Day Treatment. Assisted MOHS and daily minor surgical lists. The post holder will be required to work within all the differing areas of dermatology as well as supporting the smooth running of the dermatology out- patients clinics.

You should be able to demonstrate good organisation skills and aspire to assist those junior to yourself to develop professionally as well continue to learn and develop within the role

  • The post holder will deputise for the Dermatology Senior Sister and assist in leading and coordinating the clinical, managerial and educational requirements of the clinical area ensuring delivery of the highest standards of nursing practice and care.
  • The post holder will be responsible for a clinical caseload in Dermatology including nurse led clinics, patch testing, UV Phototherapy treatments, topical treatments, photodynamic therapy, wound care, Botox, practical eczema management, assisted MOHS and minor surgical lists.
  • The post holder will assist in the development and co-ordination of the Dermatology service in conjunction with the Senior sister, Senior Nurse, Lead Clinician, and Service Manager for Dermatology.
  • The post holder will ensure Dermatology Nurses within the department receive education and training to develop up to date clinical skills.
  • The post holder will deputize for the Senior Sister in her absence and should be able to demonstrate good organizational skills and monitor standards within the nursing team. Must have ability to assist and support junior members of the team in their professional development through formal and informal training as well as develop their own role.
  • The post holder will ensuring the safety and wellbeing of staff and service users and always work in a manner that promotes dignity and equality through the adoption of patient centered care principles.
