Mentus Recruitment are proudly working with an independent healthcare provider to recruit for a Clinical Bed Manager in Maidenhead, Berkshire. This role is based in a psychiatric hospital which supports adult service users with acute and complex mental health needs.
Information About The Role
Working collaboratively with the senior management team the Clinical Bed Manager will be accountable for the decision-making responsibility and to ensure admissions and discharges are made appropriately whilst managing bed flow. The successful candidate will share a commitment to the philosophy and objectives of the establishment. Maintain professional standards in health and facilitate the operation of a services day to day functions.
- To continually monitor and co-ordinate capacity and flow throughout the hospital.
- To make regular visits to the wards to maintain an accurate bed state, monitoring actual and potential discharges in conjunction with nursing staff in each clinical area/department
- To collect and collate data for Operational Site reports
- To report capacity and flow information to site meetings to enable planning and management for the utilisation of in-patient beds
- To ensure Bed Management clinical systems are kept updated and accurate.
- Work independently to audit current process and suggest ways to implement new strategies to improve patient flow.
- Use operational and or clinical knowledge, to risk assess appropriate patients for transfer to outlying and escalation areas as require
- Liaise with external service providers regarding referrals. Grow and maintain relationships with external agencies.

The Hospital offers a flexible environment designed to support each patients progress along their rehab pathway. The Hospital is a 30 bedded hospital in Berkshire providing a holistic service for women between 18-65 with complex mental health needs that include: personality disorder; serious and enduring mental illness; co-morbidity; and a history of complex trauma.
Applicants Must
- Have a valid NMC PIN
- Experience working in a mental health environment
- An excellent track record in a management role within the healthcare sector (essential), together with an understanding of mental health issues and a passion for improving clinical quality and patient care.
- Experience within similar services.
- Extensive understanding of the Care Quality Commission standards of bed management and operational expectations.
- Previous experience as a Senior Registered Nurse or Clinical Lead Nurse role with experience in a similar environment.
- Have full right to work in the UK
