Radiographic Departmental Assistant– 37 Hours

Band 3 (Annex U)

We require a friendly, motivated and compassionate individual who enjoys working with people in a clinical setting to join our team.

The successful candidate will rotate through the various imaging areas including CT, MRI, RNI and fluoroscopy. The supportive role of the Radiographic Department Assistant is vital in ensuring the smooth running of the radiology service.

The post holder will participate in patient care, assisting in clinical procedures and the smooth day-to-day running of these areas. Good organisation and communication skills are essential. A working knowledge of computers is helpful, however on-site training will be given. As this post covers day, evening and weekend shifts, a flexible approach to working is required.

This is an exciting time to join our team in the neuroradiology department as we continue to settle in to our new purpose built facility on the Royal Infirmary site. Neuroradiology is co-joined with the paediatric radiology department. While primarily based in neuroradiology, this post provides an opportunity for the successful candidate to gain experience in both adult and paediatric settings.

Previous experience in a healthcare environment is advantageous but not essential.

  • up to 12 months prior to completion of training: 75 per cent of the pay band maximum of the fully qualified rate;
  • more than one but less than two years prior to completion of training: 70 per cent of the pay band maximum of the qualified rate of the qualified;
  • more than two but less than three years prior to completion of training: 65 per cent of the pay band maximum for the qualified rate.
  • more than three years from completion of training: 60 per cent of the pay band maximum of the fully qualified rate.
