The Post
We have an exciting opportunity for you to join Public Health Scotland as one of our PA/Administrators.
The Candidate
In this role, you will:
hold an HNC/HND in Office Administration (or related subject) or have an equivalent level of experience and be able to demonstrate an ability to operate within a senior administrative and secretarial role.
have good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, in particular Word, Excel, MSTeams and PowerPoint is required.
A knowledge of NHS applications such as PECOS would be beneficial, though training will be provided.
Importantly be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills and outstanding organisational abilities.
Be able to deal confidently with senior managers, staff, and stakeholders.
Be self-organised, meticulous and thrive in a busy environment.
We hold several vacancies and these are on a fixed term basis until the end of September 2024.
Business Services are currently going through a service review and there is a likelihood of these posts becoming permanent, however there is no guarantee and it would be subject to internal recruitment processes.
Location and Working Pattern:
This role will be based in Gyle Square, Edinburgh, or Central Quay, Glasgow.
Please note that PHS will be relocating from Central Quay, Glasgow to Bothwell Street, Glasgow in September 2024.
PHS currently operations a hybrid working model, with a mixture of working at home and in the office each week.
Whilst this role is full time Monday to Friday (37 hours per week), part time hours will be considered.
During times of public health emergency, or other urgent business need, you may be required on a temporary basis to work your normal contracted working hours over 7 days including weekends, in order to meet the needs of the service.
It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with PHS.
