Kitchen Porter/Housekeeping Assistant

Location: Maidstone

Available Shifts : Variety of shifts covering days, nights and weekends working shifts between 6.30am to 7.15pm

Salary: £11.60 per hour

Do you have experience working as part of a Guest Services Team, working as a Housekeeping or a Kitchen Porter and enjoys being active in their work, with attention to detail ensuring the hospital is kept clean every day for our patients.  You will able to work well both as an individual and as part of a team.  

Whilst working as a Kitchen Porter you will assist in the supply and provision of an exceptional food service to our patients and staff, you will also be required to complete a variety of tasks to support the team including assisting the chef’s, cleaning of kitchen and dining areas and washing equipment and cutlery.  As a Housekeeping Assistant you will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining patient rooms, communal areas and offices.  

Role Responsibilities include:

  • To clean and wash all kitchen and service items in an efficient manor with high attention to detail and in line with company and COSHH standards
  • Assist the chef’s in the preparation of food as requested adhering to food hygiene regulations
  • Keep the kitchen and restaurant areas clean and tidy at all times
  • Be completely customer focused, working together with the team to provide an efficient and effective service.
  • To provide a high-quality housekeeping service to all areas including patient rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, ensuring that excellent standards of cleanliness and hygiene are both achieved and maintained.
  • Support the housekeeping team in delivering of excellent patient service across all areas and departments of the hospital.
  • To work within infection control guidelines at all times when working within clinical areas of the hospital

Person Specification:

  • Have previous housekeeping / cleaning experience within a similar environment
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be experienced working within a food service role providing exceptional customer service
  • Possess a Food Hygiene certificate or be willing to undergo this training
  • Have excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Have knowledge of COSHH and its application.
  • Work well both on their own initiative and as part of a team
