Job summaryThis is an exciting opportunity to join our Acute Medicine team at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals as a Clinical Fellow ST1/2 (Trust Grade SHO).
The Acute Medicine service is an energizing and welcoming place to work, thriving on its dynamic and collaborative multi-disciplinary approach.
The post holder will undertake their duties at the Watford General Hospital site.
This post is for a period of 1 year, Fixed term.
Main duties of the jobThe Acute Medicine Service has three areas of work, all co-located on the Acute Medicine/ Emergency Medicine floor:
- The Ambulatory Care Unit (ACU) investigating and treating medical patients who can be discharged on the day of admission as part of our SDEC services.
- The Emergency Assessment Unit (EAU) is a unit through which acute admissions for both medicine and surgery are admitted. The medical take is run out of EAU.
- The Acute Assessment Unit (AAU) is a short stay unit for medical patients
The successful post holder will work across the Acute Medicine Service as required under the supervision of the consultant Acute Physicians and registrars.
The post holder will also contribute to the Medicine on-call rota (1 in 55).
