The Home
Blair House Care Home in Newtownards is a nursing home with a newly opened mental health unit. The home has a total of 85 beds: 21 mental health, 20 residential dementia, 15 nursing dementia and 29 frail and elderly nursing.
The Role
To provide high-quality person-centred care to the residents of the home, supporting with their everyday needs and contributing to their enjoyment of life.
Main Responsibilities
Assist qualified staff with care plans, tasks and activities to support the wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents
Participate in activities, motivating and supporting residents to get involved
Assist residents with eating, drinking, washing, dressing and going to the toilet
Assess and observe the emotional and physical wellbeing of residents, recognising changes and reporting as necessary in a timely manner
Maintain accurate records, communicating effectively with residents and their families
You Will Need
To be a good listener, showing patience, compassion, empathy and understanding
A good standard of written and oral English
Experience in Health and Social Care not required as full training will be provided

Be NISCC registered or eligible to register
