The Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 8a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist for its Liaison Mental Health Teams in Shrewsbury and Telford. The role involves working within an interdisciplinary team at two acute hospitals, supporting service users with mental health difficulties through direct and indirect therapeutic interventions, assessments, and supervision. Key responsibilities include conducting psychological interviews, providing expert formulations, implementing psychological interventions, and engaging in consultation and training activities. The position also emphasises collaboration with other psychology professionals within the Urgent Care Pathway and includes risk assessment and management.

The successful candidate will be expected to communicate complex information sensitively in high-pressure situations and maintain a high standard of clinical judgement. The Trust offers a welcome bonus equivalent to 10% of the first year's salary and supports training placements in collaboration with local clinical psychology programs.
