1. To formulate and deliver individual physiotherapy treatment programs based on soundknowledge of evidence-based practice and treatment options2. To assess the patient's understanding of treatment proposals and gain valid informal consent totreatment3. To use a range of verbal and non-verbal communication tools to communicate effectively and sensitively condition-related information with patients, other members of the multi-disciplinary team and other relevant parties, including Social Services and third-sector organisations.4. This would be to a graduate standard and involve working with universities to ensure the standard of practice andteaching meets the standards set by the degree level qualification.2. To teach, assess and contribute to the performance assessment and appraisal of Band 5 qualifiedstaff and Technical Instructors.3. To maintain your own clinical professional development (CPD) by keeping abreast of newdevelopments and trends and incorporating them as necessary into your work.4. To actively participate in the in-service training program by attending and occasionally leading presentations, completing preparatory reading and contributing to discussions and presentations.5. To participate in a formal appraisal scheme and formulate a personal development plan.6. To participate in data collection and occasional lead clinical audit within the Physiotherapydepartment or as part of the MDT.7. To maintain a high personal standard of professional practice and behavior, and to encourageothers within the team to do likewise.8. Maintain and develop current knowledge of evidence-based practice in the areas of each rotation,developing specialist knowledge of particular conditions and patient types.9. To be responsible for the equipment used in carrying out physiotherapy duties and to adhere to department policies and guidelines to ensure safe use of equipment by yourself and Technical Instructors.2. To share responsibility for departmental tidiness, maintenance and administration.3. To utilize IT systems appropriately to improve the efficiency of the service.4. To assist and sometimes lead in the supervision and coordination of junior staff and assistants dailyensuring their practice as well as your own meets the required professionalstandards.5. Deputise for Band 7 in their absence, taking responsibility for the operational management of theteam, allocating and organizing the work of junior and assistant staff to meet service priorities

The Physio team makes up an important part of a wider MDT including OT, SLT, Dietetics, Psychology and Specialist nursing.
This post is 0.6 WTE (22.5 hours per week). Flexibility on working hours and days is available although Thursday morning is essential.
You will have access to training, supervision and development within this post.
To assess and treat own specialist caseload of neurological patients and maintain associated records as an autonomous practitioner.
To supervise less experienced physiotherapists and students within this speciality.
To feedback and receive guidance from Band 7 / Therapies Clinical Manager / Clinical Specialist on a frequent basis.
