Job summaryAn exciting opportunity has arisen to introduce two advanced clinical practice midwifery posts in maternal medicine into Southwest London Maternal Medicine Network, working as a fixed term 1 year contract.
The post forms part of our maternal medicine midwifery workforce strategy, which is in response to the national agenda that requires the development of midwifery clinical expertise within maternal medicine services in England.
These successful post holder will have their working week equally divided between two SWL NHS hospital sites, with 80% of these ACP midwifery post holder role's time being clinical.Their roles will have a twofold focus. The post holder will be expected to work in collaboration with the local maternal medicine consultants, developing and running specialist midwifery led clinics for women with complex pregnancy.
Secondly, the post holder will be expected to use their clinical expertise to act as role models and mentors, to facilitate the development of the knowledge and clinical expertise of the local maternal medicine midwifery teams. These roles will have an immediate effect on the provision of maternity care for women with complex pregnancies and the development of future midwifery expertise locally.
The successful candidate will be expected to have fulfilled the requirements of the JD specification.

Main duties of the jobThe Advanced Clinical Practitioners will have a coordinating Education Supervisor and may have a number of Associate Workplace Supervisors, who support specified aspects of the practitioner's specialty or area-specific knowledge and skills development, in relation to the four pillars of advanced clinical practice (clinical expertise, leadership and management, education and research).
