An opportunity has arisen for an individual to join Ward 41, Acute Medicine of Elderly within NHS Fife.

We are seeking a caring individual who demonstrates a willingness to learn. Previous experience in extended roles like venepuncture, blood glucose monitoring ,catheterisation, cannulation and observations would be desirable.

The post requires someone with excellent communication skills, good time management, the ability to prioritise workload and an ability to use their initiative as well as being a good team player.

The successful applicant must be able to deal with the fast pace of admission and co-ordinating discharges from the Ward.

SVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care is preferred and or evidence of ongoing learning.

A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.


NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
