Care Job Overview
As aHomecare Nurse, you will provide the client with all daily care activities of daily living, and mobility needs. Specific duties will be detailed in the Client's care plan and daily activities, managed through our electronic visit system.
Key Responsibilities
- Attaching and detaching the ventilator for overnight use
- Providing cough assist and deep suction support
- Morning bowel management (suppositories and manual stimulation)
- Administering oxygen as needed and managing the medication regime
- Manual handling (hoist transfer for spinal injury patient)
- Catheter monitoring and hourly emptying if required
- Supporting with eating, drinking, and meal preparation
- Ensuring cleanliness of bed area and maintaining hygiene
- Supporting the patient to use a standing frame and conducting passive exercises
- Hourly repositioning to maintain skin integrity
Requirements
- Valid NMC registration and tracheostomy care experience
- Ability to manage ventilators and provide critical nursing interventions
- Compassionate and attentive to the needs of spinal injury patients
- Female carers preferred due to client preference
